Every year, Literacy Alberta and the literacy community recognize outstanding achievements among its learners, literacy practitioners, volunteers, and organizations.
Literacy Alberta’s Awards of Excellence 2011
Literacy Alberta recognizes Albertans who excel in the field of literacy in four categories at an annual gala celebration. One of our coveted awards is presented to an outstanding practitioner, tutor and adult learner every year. We also honour one organization’s strong commitment to literacy and its efforts to assist adult learners.
The Awards of Excellence will be presented at the Literacy and Learning Symposium Banquet at the Radisson Airport Hotel, Calgary on October 20th, 2011.

Stepping Stones to Literacy Awards
In partnership with the Lougheed House Foundation, and with the financial support of Valerie Seaman and an anonymous donor, Literacy Alberta celebrates an outstanding adult learner by presenting an annual scholarship award. Also in the beneficiary’s honor, a stepping stone is laid in the Lougheed Garden’s Stepping Stones pathway. The award is presented at a luncheon at Lougheed House each spring.
