NCT Training
New Coordinator Training and Follow-up Training invitations are out!

In partnership with Community Learning Network and Centre for Family Literacy, Literacy Alberta is pleased to coordinate New Coordinator Training (NCT) April 21-25, 2013 and Follow-Up Training (FCT) June 2-5, 2013 at Star of the North Retreat Centre, (3a St. Vital AVE, St. Albert, AB). NCT and FCT are unique training opportunities for new Community Adult Learning Council (CALC) Coordinators, Volunteer Tutor Adult Literacy Services (VTALS) Practitioners and Family Literacy (FLIF) Coordinators.
This training is funded by Enterprise and Advanced Education and all training costs, including meals, accommodation and travel to attend New Coordinator Training is covered for approved Literacy Practitioners, Adult Learning Coordinators and Family Literacy Coordinators.
NCT Modules will focus on the key work of these community-based literacy and learning organizations. Topics covered include partnership & collaboration, community needs assessments, EAE grant application & reporting review, English as a Second Language with Rural Routes, board governance, tutor training, assessment tools, essential skills and program marketing and support.
FCT Sessions will include a Q & A with Enterprise and Advanced Education, Learning Navigator with Cathey Tidey, Show Me the Money$$ with Jane Brenner, Aboriginal Awareness with Joanne Ahenakew, as well as Tutor Training or a CALC programming round table.
For both events, detailed schedules will be finalized and available to registrants by April 2, 2013.
