Think tanks

As a provincial coalition, Literacy Alberta works to identify emerging literacy issues and their affect on adult learners, families, communities, and workplaces. Some current issues are the effects of violence and learning, poverty and learning, the economy, employment and the increasing importance of education and training. When we see that an issue is critical to literacy in the province, we share the information in a think tank session.

Annually, Literacy Alberta hosts a think tank session with representatives from business, literacy organizations, and social agencies. Noted economists, authors, human resources gurus, and literacy specialists have been engaged as keynote speakers.
